About Me
In my time previously at Stanford Health Care and now at UCSF Medical Center, I have witnessed the toll that serious illness and complex medical diagnoses take on individuals, their caregivers, family, and friends.
In my experience, hospitals and doctors’ offices may be excellent places for dealing with what ails the body, but they can be challenging places to have conversations about pain, suffering, and complex loss/grief.
In my practice, I hope to create an environment to help support individuals as well as their caregivers, family, and friends through what can be the most challenging phase of life.
My specialization is in working with:
adults 40+, especially those 55+
individuals coping with chronic illness, terminal diagnosis, frequent and/or lengthy hospitalizations, and medical trauma
caregivers, friends, and families of those experiencing complex medical issues
clients and their caregivers at end of life
individuals dealing with anticipatory grief and bereavement
Professional Experience
At USCF I work part-time as an Inpatient Clinical Social Worker with the Palliative Care Services team. I specialize in providing assessment and psychosocial/therapeutic support to individuals, families, and caregivers facing serious illness, largely related to cancer diagnoses, while admitted to the hospital.
While at Stanford, I worked as a Clinical Social Worker with the Lung and Heart-Lung Transplant team. I provided assessment and psychosocial/therapeutic support to individuals, families, and caregivers in both inpatient and outpatient environments during all phases of their transplant journey.
